Spring Wishes!
Thank you for your continued generosity and care to giveback and recycle, in a way that's giving others a helping hand.
“Sharon* has been working with our domestic violence recovery mentors to build back a life she deserves in which she is safe and thriving. After finishing an in-patient recovery program, she was going to need support while continuing to recover from home. She uses a donated laptop to stay connected to recovery meetings and her support community.” Raphael House resident recipient.

Angelique* has been taking classes for some time and her computer broke. She needed a computer to be able to complete assignments. She’s able to keep working toward completing her degree with a donated computer. Raphael House resident recipient.
"Thanks to a donated laptop an employee of Blanchet House could participate remotely in professional development training. Improving their access to technology kept them from missing out on learning important skills to better serve our clients." --Blanchet House Staff

Thanks to you, survivors like Amara* are busy planning their futures.
More than 13 years ago, Amara came to live in our emergency shelter with her three children, just days after giving birth. Amara worked hard to rebuild her new life as a single mom, and with support from her advocate, connected to long-term, stable housing.
After moving into a safe apartment of their own, Amara and her children continued to connect with Raphael House through our Advocacy Center – accessing ongoing services, weekly support groups, and family activities. Over the years, our advocates were able to help Amara in winning full legal custody of her children, receive a work permit and driver’s license, and start a small business of her own.
Just last year, Amara finally received her US residency card, paving her way to applying for permanent citizenship. Her residency card will also allow her to return to her home country, and visit her mother for the first time in over 24 years – and she is working to renew her children’s passports, so that they can plan the trip together as a family.
Your generous gift of an HP laptop and clothing is making a difference here, and funding transformative programs so that survivors like Amara can thrive. Thank you for helping us envision a brighter future, where change like this is possible for the families we serve!

“There [are] unbelievably kind and generous people in this community. I can’t think of all the items [that] have been life changing, like a computer donation – Our residents can now go to school, work from home, with so many opportunities they wouldn’t have if they didn’t have that computer.” Bethany, Raphael House Advocacy Services Manager, January, 2024
